Research assistant position in the Department of Theoretical Chemistry

A top research institute in the Czech Republic, named after the Czech Nobel Laureate in Chemistry J. Heyrovsky, is offering a research assistant position in the Department of Theoretical Chemistry.

Job description

This position is associated with a specific scientific project primarily focused on the numerical implementation of the two-dimensional time-dependent Schrödinger equation, with the aim of simulating the dynamical evolution of nuclei and electrons in molecular systems. The successful candidate is expected to possess a strong foundation in quantum mechanics, along with advanced proficiency in the numerical implementation of physical models relevant to this domain. Required programming expertise includes Python, as well as at least one low-level programming language, such as Fortran or C++.

 

Essential skills and qualifications 

Advanced programming skills in Python and C++ or Fortran. Good knowledge of the non-relativistic quantum mechanics. A good knowledge of Czech and English is required.
