POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW position (for scientists currently working outside the Czech Republic): Theoretical development of new catalysts based on transition metal exchanged zeolites.

 

General requirements:

    • Ph.D. degree in chemistry or physics (maximum 7 years from receiving the Ph.D. degree) before the date of starting the mobility (i.e., October 1 2020)
    • The applicant is working outside the Czech Republic for two years from the last three years.
    • Experience with writing scientific papers and publishing in high quality peer-reviewed journals.
    • Advanced level of written and spoken English.
    • Competencies necessary for a team work.

 

The research position in more details:

Job description: The main task of the successful applicant will be investigating properties of distant binuclear cationic centers in selected zeolites and studying various reactions over these active centers employing periodic DFT calculations. Specific requirements:

  • The position requires a strong scientific background in either computational (applied quantum) chemistry (experience with periodic DFT approaches is a plus) or solid-state physics (experience with periodic DFT approaches for studying crystalline solids is a plus).

  • The scientific work will be done in a close collaboration with experimentalists.
