President of the Czech Academy of Sciences Radomír Pánek visits our institute

On 2 April 2026, the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences welcomed the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Radomír Pánek. He was accompanied by members of the Academy’s leadership – Ilona Müllerová, Miroslava Anděrová, and Ondřej Beránek.

During the visit, the delegation met with the Institute’s Director, Martin Hof, and the Institute’s management. The discussion focused on current research activities, staff development, and the Institute’s long-term strategy. The Director presented not only the main scientific directions but also the challenges currently faced by research institutions.

The programme also included a meeting with the Institute’s employees in the Brdička Lecture Hall. The discussion was open and provided space for questions on a wide range of topics – from research funding and international collaboration to the day-to-day functioning of the Academy of Sciences.

The delegation also visited selected laboratories, specifically those of Martin Kalbáč (Department of Low-Dimensional Systems) and Otto Frank (Department of Electrochemical Materials), where they had the opportunity to learn about ongoing research projects firsthand.

We greatly appreciate that the leadership of the Academy of Sciences took the time to visit our Institute. Open discussions with staff and personal meetings in the laboratories are essential for mutual understanding and for the further development of our institution,” said Director Martin Hof.
