Abstract: This project is aimed at the development and testing of the new connection between electrochemistry and mass spectrometry (EC/MS), which is supposed to overcome the fundamental drawbacks of the commercially available on-line flow EC/MS systems in order to enable to monitor intermediates and products of not only the oxidation, but also reduction processes depending on the time and position of their formation in electrochemical cell (i.e. in different electrode compartments, different distances from the electrodes). The ambition of this project is to create apowerful tool for the research of mechanisms of redox reactions combiningadvantages of the classical rigorous electrochemical approach with excellentcapabilities of the modern API mass spectrometry and to demonstrate its usefulness forstudies of the electrochemically induced redox reactions ofselected systems.
