Abstract:
Excited molecular states play an essential role in many areas of chemistry, physics, biology and applied science. They are important as intermediate states for transfer of energy between nuclear and electronic degrees of freedom. The project is devoted to the study of the dynamics of excited resonant states of molecules and of the processes associated with these states. In particular, the processes of vibrational excitation of molecules by electron impact, dissociative attachment of electrons to molecules and associative detachment of electrons will be pursued. Project includes also modelling of resonant excited states and related processes will be studied with the aim to improve their efficiency and to extend the applicability of available methods to a broader class of systems. The specific merit of this project may be seen in a multifaced treatment of the dynamics of excited molecular states.
