Abstract:
The objective of the proposed project is the development of catalysts combining zeolites and mesoporous molecular sieves with base properties with catalytically active palladium species for highly selective C-C bond forming reactions of Suzuki and Heck types. New bifunctional heterogeneous catalysts of molecular sieves for reactions of aryl halides with olefins or organic boronic acid derivatives will be synthesized. A series of molecular sieves differing in pore size geometry and chemical composition will be used for the synthesis of the final catalysts to elucidate the key factors controlling a high activity and selectivity of these catalysts. Palladium active species will be introduced either from their water solutions into basic zeolites for the Heck reaction or anchored via phosphinoferrocene linkers on mesoporous molecular sieves for the Suzuki coupling.
