Abstract:
The objective of the project proposal is to synthesize new advanced hybrid single site metathesis catalysts for synthesis of fine chemicals by immobilization of ruthenium organometallic complexes on the surface of mesoporous molecular sieves. To achieve this objective, synthesis of mesoporous molecular sieves with different chemical composition and textural properties will be optimized. Organometallic complexes will be will purchased or synthesized in our laboratory, the main effort will be focused on Grubbs type alkylidene complexes. Immobilization of these complexes will be performed directly or via proper linkers to achieve a high efficiency, reusability and delivery of products free of catalyst residues. The catalytic behavior of prepared catalysts will be investigatedin metathesis reactions of unsaturated ethers, amines and esters leading to important special chemicals. Final effort will be to synthesize hybrid chiral Ru-catalyst with potential application in asymmetric catalysis.
