Music
I attended piano classes in a local music school. This evoked very little interest from my part. I got realy deaply interested much later. This was triggered by an enthusiastic high school teacher prof. F. Hofman. Thanks to him I begun to play a contrabass (the double-base). At the same time I was enticed to try a pipe organ. Since 1974 I am an organist of St. Gothard church in Slany. I joint an amateur symphonic orchestra in Kladno (since 1978). The number of concerts is now difficult to count.

Historical organ by Anton Reiss (1782) in Slaný

Organs abroad, which I was allowed to play:

Chiesa nationale dei Cavalieri di S. Stefano, Pisa Italy

L'Eglise du S. Medard in Paris (organ made by Stoltz et Fils 1842)

I especially enjoyed playing the contrabass part in the following symphonic masterpieces:

  1. F. Poulenc: Stabat Mater
  2. R. Schumann: Symphony No. 1
  3. Beethoven: Symphonies No. 1, 2, 5, 6 and Scherzo of 9th
  4. Beethoven: Concertos for piano No. 1, 2, 5, violin concerto
  5. Mozart: Symphonies Jupiter, Haffner, Prager, Linzer, Es dur, g moll
  6. Mozart: Piano concertos C dur, A dur, d moll
  7. Mozart: Requiem
  8. Dvořák: Symphonies No. 8 and 9
  9. Dvořák: Concert for violoncello h moll
  10. Dvořák: Stabat Mater
  11. Mendelsohn-Bartholdy: Symphonies No. 1, 3, 5
  12. Mendelsohn-Bartholdy: Violin concerto
  13. Tschaikovski: Violin concerto
  14. Brahms: Symphony No. 1
  15. Musorgski: Night on Monte Carlo
  16. Smetana: My Country
