 Special Field

  • fundamental research in molecular electrochemistry of newly synthesized organic, organometallic and coordination compounds

  • redox reaction mechanisms

  • structure-reactivity relationship

  • electron delocalization

  • stereoelectrochemistry

  • molecules with multiple redox centers

Results are applicable in synthetic, environmental, analytical, biological (medical) and material sciences.

Actual research interests

  • intramolecular electronic interactions in molecules with multiple redox centers (e.g. calixarenes)

  • push-pull delocalized systems (e.g. for NLO materials, molecular wires)

  • identification of (radicalic) reaction intermediates

  • combination of electrochemical experimental approach with quantum chemical calculations

  • on-line as well as in-situ combination of electrochemical methods with other techniques: UV/VIS, EPR, NMR, (GC/LC)-MS, electrochemiluminescence (ECL), sonoelectrochemistry etc.

  • elucidation of redox reaction mechanisms

 Scientific results

  • 119 original scientific papers in international reviewed journals (indexed in WOS)

  • 20 contributions in specialized monographs

  • HI: 24

  • 17 grants from Czech Agencies, 6 grants with foreign participation

 Teaching activities

  • since 1990 lecturer of Electrochemistry at ICT Prague

  • supervisor (or co-supervisor) of Master (22 students since 1990) and Ph.D. theses (12 students since 1990)

  • 8 post-doctoral internships from abroad
