Innovative approaches for zeolite synthesis

The mechanochemical and ultrasonic activation and the application solvent-free synthesis for synthesiz of zeolites will be studied in the project. Furthermore, the effect of these non-conventional synthesis techniques on the properties of the synthesized zeolite aluminosilicate matrices including the expected increased incorporation of Al to the framework and the Al organization in the framework will be studied by multinuclear MAS NMR spectroscopy . Multinuclear MAS NMR will also be used to characterize the synthesis mixtures, and to the elucidation of the mechanisms / processes that control the synthesis of zeolites using unconventional methods. The results will constitute the knowledge base necessary to the design of environmentally and economically appropriate techniques for the synthesis of zeolites using unconventional methods.
