Zeolites with (semi)monomodal aluminum distribution in the framework

The project is based on our recent results showing that the distribution of Al (between isolated Al atoms and Al pairs ) in the framework of zeolites ,the largest group of industrially applied heterogeneous catalysts is a key parameter controlling the catalytic properties of zeolites, and that this distribution can be tuned. The project will provide new, unique class of silicon-rich zeolites - zeolites with (semi)mono-modal distribution of Al (significantly prevailing single Al or Al pairs) in the framework and on the demonstration of their expected unique properties in catalysis. New synthesis strategies for the control of the Al distribution in the framework of zeolite beta, SSZ -13 and MCM-22/ITQ-2, modern industrially applied zeolites which also represent zeolites with large and small pores and nano-sheets and with promising applications in many chemical processes (including methane utilization or removal of NOx from mobile sources) will be developed. Unique properties of these materilas will be demonstrated on model acidic and redox catalytic reactions.
